Christmas Greetings

As I get Christmas greetings through the mail, I realize that some of them are from people that don’t believe in God and reject the reality that Jesus is Emanuel “God with us”. It has always amazed me that this season brings with it such “warm” feelings of peace and good news to Man (Where have I heard that before? ….Luke 2:14? )

As I was praying this morning for North Korea and for peace in that region, I thought of another beautiful reality of the season: There is a “cease fire” in every international conflict on Christmas Day. Interesting isn’t it?

It is no surprise that Peace came from Heaven and Good News was born that day over 2000 years ago. In 2011 that birth still affects and changes lives today.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever and the reflection of His love shines in people around the world.

I am praying for our God’s workers in many different countries. I am so honored to be their FPP (friend , partner and pastor)

I am proud of each one of you here at NSB: The Adventure in Missions Class, leaders of Focus areas, Short Term Mission teachers and leaders, our Mission Board, Sponsor A Student team, Volunteers….so many of you with love and compassion for the Nations. I know that with your work , each day your are bringing …..PEACE ON EARTH AND GOOD WILL TO ALL.

Here are the upcoming trips for 2010 that you might want to be a part of:

July 9-18, Nicaragua: Choir Team
August 7-16, Nicaragua: School Teachers’ Conference
September 25-October 4, Nicaragua: Women’s Conference
November 27-December 6, Nicaragua: End of School Year Celebration/Graduation

Other trips planned for 2010 include: India, Central Asia, Japan, Philippines, and Cambodia. Check back as dates get firmed up.

Short Term Mission Trip Training March 13th

Planning on taking a short-term trip this year with Northshore Missions? This is your chance to learn about Northshore’s vision for short-term trips, skills for working as a team and tips for sharing your faith cross-culturally.

Other training dates coming up are June 5th and September 18th.

Prayer Focus

Ukraine: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" James 1:27. There are tens of thousands of street children and over 100,000 children in orphanages in the Ukraine. These children are at risk of becoming involved with drugs, crime and prostitution unless they are rescued by the loving arms of Christians. Pray for Northshore missionary Karen Springs who works with orphans in Ukraine in need of finding a home. Learn more about her ministry in this week's nEws.
