TV Broadcasting in Central Asia

I saw the tears of the oppressed—and they have no comforter…” Ecclesiastes 4:1. There are over 1 billion Muslims worldwide that are in need of a Comforter! Almost 1 out of every 5 people in the world is a Muslim and an estimated 7.5 million Muslims live the US. I also come from a large Muslim family in Central Asia and practiced Muslim traditions not knowing the true God. From a very young age, I experienced a huge emptiness inside my heart and was seeking something to fill it. I thought Muslim rituals would help me to overcome this emptiness but it didn’t. Then, through the witness of missionaries, I became a Christ follower and my life has never been the same. God placed a desire in my heart to serve Him in some way. I worked with Wycliffe translators for 13 years and completed the translation of the Old Testament into one of the Central Asian languages. Northshore played a huge role by supporting me all these years. What a joy it was for me to work with NSB staff for 10 plus years. Thank you Northshore body for your selfless love and generosity all these years! You touched thousands of people through your support and love!

After the completion of the Old Testament, God gave me a vision of the steps to follow. After much prayer since March 2010, I joined a Christian TV broadcasting team which has been a dream of mine since childhood. God fulfilled this dream more than what I had imagined it to be after so many years! Because of new satellite programming, God’s message of hope and joy is now available daily in people’s homes. By His grace and power, a partnership of believers recently started producing Christian TV programs in the T-land language with the goal of reaching the Central Asian people worldwide. They need to hear that God loves them and seeks them through Jesus the Savior and wants to adopt them as children to be with Him forever! This is the good news we long to share with the Muslim men and women through TV broadcasting! Since January 2010 the TV programs have been on the air for the Central Asian people around the world including Iran, Turkey and Afghanistan twice a day.

Please pray with us for the Lord to touch many hearts through this TV ministry for Muslim men and women around the world. God has a special call for the T people to show them His love.  We want to be faithful to be there for them and bring encouragement that the message of the Bible is true and available to every person. Also please pray that funding comes through for the completion of the studio building that is in process of being built.

Ukraine: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" James 1:27. There are tens of thousands of street children and over 100,000 children in orphanages in the Ukraine. These children are at risk of becoming involved with drugs, crime and prostitution unless they are rescued by the loving arms of Christians. Pray for Northshore missionary Karen Springs who works with orphans in Ukraine in need of finding a home. Learn more about her ministry in this week's nEws.
